A long time ago, an extraordinary event took place. it was not far from our world, yet in a different continuum. The Earth violently shook as the surface was bombarded by stones from the sky. Scorching heat melted the land into a vast ocean of molten lava. Millions of years passed before the surface began to cool down, allowing the land to reshape itself once more.

Glass Worlds has rise from glass that was about to get wasted. Out of this ancient and unusable glass are many undiscovered micro worlds that are waiting to be discovered. Rather than letting the material go to waste, I decided to turn it into a creative art project. This work is inspired by the apocalypse. the journey through destruction and rebirth.

After the making of Glass Worlds, a new project came up. A project about Nostalgia.

Nostalgia is about my transition from childhood to adulthood, expressed through objects that hold meaningful memories from my youth. As adults, we sometimes still own toys from our childhood that we feel connected to through memory. One of mine “memorable” objects are my marbles. As I grew older, the desire to use them faded. So I found a new way to reconnect with them again. I achieved this by melting the marbles into small pools of glass “the fusion of my nostalgia.” This transformation created space for new memories to be formed with the objects, but in a different shape that better reflects who I am now.

Another source of nostalgia from my childhood is my curiosity about the unknown. I have always been fascinated by life on other planets and what those worlds might look like, something that continues to this day. I incorporated this curiosity into the project by stating that my marbles are now planets and once melted, it transforms into a kind of landscape. I captured these landscapes in digital works, representing the worlds hidden within these glass marbles.
